Strategic groups as reference groups: Theory,modeling and empirical examination of industry and competitive strategy

Previous studies on strategic groups have mainly focused on their static characteristics in order to test the theory of strategic groups and intraindustry performance differences (Porter, 1979; Cool and Schendel, 1988; Fiegenbaum and Thomas, 1990). In contrast, this study takes a longitudinal, dynamic perspective and describes the forces driving strategic group membership and structural evolution. It proposes that a strategic group acts as a reference point for group members in formulating competitive strategy. A partial adjustment model of strategic mobility is then developed which incorporates the idea of a strategic group as a reference group. It models strategic change in an industry both within and across strategic groups. The model is tested in the context of an in-depth industry analysis of the more significant firms in the insurance industry over the 1970-84 time period. The results suggest that strategic groups act as reference points for firm strategies and that predictions of future firm strategies and industry/group structures may also be successfully derived.

Preferences in the Future

Environmental economics has been much occupied with the discount rate, which is the value of future costs and benefits relative to present costsor benefits. But at least as important is the question of whatshould be discounted, that is, what the value of those future environmentalbenefits is to future generations. This paper analyzes the role for futurepreferences and discusses the state of knowledge. I argue that theappropriate discount rate is the market one, and that the real problemis determining future willingness-to-pay. This approach makes clearerthe connection between discounting and the valuation debate.This paper focuses on two features that have been prominent in that debate:existence value and reference dependence. I argue that thereis a vital connection between the two constructs and that this link yieldsimportant implications for future willingness-to-pay.     

美英德日银行公司治理比较

本文通过对美英德日银行公司治理的比较，发现治理的目标的一致性，即通过发挥管理和监督功能，来实现公司价值的最大化或股东价值的最大化。但由于法律制度、资本市场、政治体制的差异，各国银行公司治理结构模式又不尽相同。本文试图在进行比较研究的基础上，为我国银行改善公司治理提供启示和借鉴。

外资并购下发达国家产业安全防范体系的比较研究——对我国装备制造产业安全防范的启示

通过对美国、德国、韩国、日本等发达国家和新兴工业国家应对外资并购、保护国内重要产业安全的措施体系的比较分析,揭示了发达国家产业安全防范体系的基本架构,即以构建和完善外资并购的法律体系为核心,以设立专门审查机构,加强重点个案处理能力为调整手段。这样的产业安全防范框架体系,对我国的产业安全保护具有直接的借鉴意义。     

对商业银行履行不良信息告知义务的调查与思考

《征信业管理条例》对商业银行履行个人不良信息事先告知义务作出了严格的规定,有利于保护信息主体权益。通过中国人民银行宣城市中心支行执法检查、调查,了解商业银行在履行不良信息事先告知义务的现状,分析实践中存在的问题及不利影响,提出相关对策建议。     

一种新的机器人自组网群组运动控制模型

针对现有机器人自组网运动控制模型无法真实反映机器人运动规律的问题,提出一种新的群组运动控制模型(group movement control model,GMCM)。该模型基于机器人通用运动学模型,采用群组控制算法,对传统群组随机运动模型——参考点群组运动模型(reference point groupmobility,RPGM)进行修改,可描述机器人编队解散和集合的运动状态,满足群组分割与合并的需求。进一步实现GMCM模型,并基于GMCM,RPGM,DRGM模型对机器人自组网路由协议进行模拟仿真。结果表明,基于GMCM模型仿真时协议性能有所降低,较为真实地模拟了机器人编队运动,对机器人自组网的研究具有一定的参考价值。     

Using the practice of foreign agricultural logistics for reference

China is a big agricultural country, but because of region, technology, policy and other reasons, Chinese agricultural products have not got a good circulation in nationwide scope. With the diversion of bottleneck which affects peasants＇ income from production field to circulation field, developing agricultural logistics has been a breakthrough to solve rural problems. The paper proposes some references, which are useful to solve ＂three agricultural problems＂, increase peasants＇ income and develop rural economy.     

日本专利代理人制度的最新发展及对我国的启示

专利代理人制度是整个专利法律制度的核心。日本的专利代理人制度自1889年创设以来已有115年的历史,前后经历了萌芽时期、发展时期、完善时期和成熟期四个阶段,迄今为止已形成了包含专利代理人考试制度、实务修习制度、专利业务法人制度、专利代理人协会制度和学校教育制度等在内的较为完善的专利代理人制度。纵观日本专利代理人制度,其立法的精细化程度、专利代理人协会对知识产权法律制度革新的参与与推动作用、中小企业专利代理援助制度以及专利代理人学校教育制度等方面对完善我国专利代理人立法和推动创新型国家建设均有极为重要的借鉴意义。
