Token entrepreneurs: a review of gender,capital, and context in technology entrepreneurship

ABSTRACT

This article reviews the literature on gender and entrepreneurship in technology to explore individual and contextual factors maintaining the token status of women in this field. It examines how the intersection of gender and context influences participation rates in entrepreneurship, and suggests that the deeply embedded cultural and cognitive associations that frame both technology and entrepreneurship as masculine concepts create barriers for women when these contexts overlap. It offers a framework for research and practice that aids in the analysis of complex multi-level barriers that control access to the forms of capital necessary for initial and continued participation in technology entrepreneurship. Given calls for women to participate more fully in high-growth technology ventures, it highlights the need for research to incorporate broader analytical perspectives that simultaneously examine both the barriers faced by women in these contexts and the factors that systemically sustain them.

研究唐代小说的视角众多，从文化学角度将小说和时代文化结合起来是其中一种。唐前期小说集《纪闻》中蕴涵着丰富的文化信息。通过阅读《纪闻》小说文本，进一步探讨作品中所反映出的唐代宗教及民间信仰、女性生存状况、中外交流情况等。     

构建我国进城务工人员社会保障制度体系的思考

从进城务工人员这个群体的特殊性出发，构建他们的社会保障制度必须要从我国城乡社会保障及其对接角度通盘考虑。通过建立进城务工人员双重社会保障制度，逐步实现城乡社会保障制度的对接。这既关系进城务工人员的权益问题，也关系城乡社会保障衔接问题，更关系着我国社会保障制度一体化目标的实现问题。     

宋代妇女奁产权的探讨

奁产,作为女子出嫁时娘家陪嫁的财产,在普遍受到妇女自身重视的同时,国家也制定了相应的法律条文来保障妇女对自己奁产的所有权。宋代是中国古代经济的一个重要发展阶段,经济的繁荣成为社会文明的基础,妇女也具备一定的权利主体资格,享有一定的法律地位。该文主要从宋代的法律文献入手,着重分析宋代妇女的奁产权及其不完整性,以探讨宋代妇女的经济权利及地位。     

Effects of demographic,experiential, and attitudinal factors on occupational sex stereotypes

The purpose of this study was to (a) compare the occupational sex stereotypes of 366 college students with those reported by Shinar in 1975, and (b) examine the relationships between demographic, experiential, and attitudinal variables and these occupational sex stereotypes. The results indicated a significant difference in occupational ratings from Shinar's study, with females' perceptions shifting more than males' perceptions. In addition, subjects' gender, tenure with female managers, and attitudes toward women as managers, were shown to be significant predictors of occuptational ratings. The implications of these findings for both employees and managers are then discussed.

以中年胖体女性为研究对象,分析其形体特征及女西服结构设计中存在的弊病,提出解决弊病的方法,同时对胖体女西服纸样结构参数及制图方法进行调整和改进,得出的结论可为特体女西服纸样设计提供指导。     

进城农民工社会保障的影响因素研究

缺乏明确的法律规定、不同制度模式之间难以互通互联及其自身的缺陷,是制约进城农民工参加社会保障的重要制度性因素;性别、城市工作年限、是否签订劳动合同、工资收入、所在城市等则是影响进城农民工参加社会保障的非制度性因素。从制度创新和强化执法等方面提出了政策建议。     

绿色农业的农村妇女道路研究

妇女作为人类生命的孕育者，对人类赖以生存的地球环境，有着息息相关的感情和强烈的责任意识，从而更容易成为环境保护的理论先驱和积极实践者。本文阐述了农村妇女与绿色农业的内在关联，认为构建绿色农业必须要大力开发农村妇女这一人力资源。     

三峡外迁移民的社会适应性及其影响因素研究——对江苏227户移民的调查

通过实证调查的资料对三峡外迁移民的社会适应状况作了描述,对影响其社会适应性的因素进行了分析。就总的社会适应性而言,一半以上的移民已基本适应了迁入地的生活。与三峡外迁移民的社会适应状况密切相关的因素主要有搬迁前后经济收入的差异、当地居民的态度、语言适应性、政府关心状况、迁入地治安状况、住房条件的差异。     

Institutional strategies for dealing with sexual harassment

Sexual harassment is being recognized as a pervasive and highly visible problem at an institutional level. As a consequence institutions are establishing policies and procedures to address this issue. In view of recent legal decisions, sexual harassment can have negative consequences for the institution as well as the harassee; thus, in some institutions, sexual harassment is viewed as a common problem shared by employers and employees. This article addresses institutional strategies that have proven effective in proactively dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace.
