Liu Yong' s Yulinling can be regarded as a representative work of Song Ci expressing feelings of parting by descrip- tion.The theme of parting was readily expressed by the long,stretched,slow-moving verse.Using multiple images of part- ing added the echo of the past to it.The split-second of parting turned into an eternal statue with simple,straightforward style of writing.It was parting that made Liu Yong strongly experience sorry for the imperfection of life.Having interpreted Yulinling,we seem to learn afresh the true essence of life.
