An Analysis of the Causes of Japan's "Circulation Revolution" Since 1990s

The commodity circulation industry of Japan has entered a period of intense transformation since 1990s, which is deemed as the second circulation revolution since the Second World War. Circulation revolution has transformed the circulation system and structure of Japan. The restructuring between the circulation businesses and manufacturers being more and more popular, operation mode of circulation undergoing radical changes, circulation revolution, therefore, exerts very important influence upon the economy of Japan as a whole. Reasons that lead to the circulation revolution of Japan are many, the major ones being price destruction, varied pricing system, increase of import, change of mode of purchase, liberalization of circulation and popularization of information technology. Analysis of these causes and their background will provide us with the general picture of the economy of Japan and the issues for study it faces today.
