As the world’s major reserve currency and international exchange medium,the US dollar has reduced the transaction costs of American consumers and businesses. Also,it reduced the financing costs of US dollar borrowers. Currently,the international monetary system is getting multipolar,major changes have taken place in the international economy,politics,society,science and technology. Thus,it is imperative for the US dollar policy to reform.In the short term,the status of the US dollar as the world’s major reserve currency is difficult to be shaken,but the policy on the US dollar should be changed from "kind ignorance" to "active management" as soon as possible.
