Abstract: | This article argues that the belief in a technology-driven recovery from the present crisis is founded on a myth. Further, the recovery is still some way off since the crisis is only just beginning. The crisis is viewed here as socio-institutional in origin: the brake should not be put on technical change, but such change should be positively directed towards fulfilling real social needs and be responsive to economic constraints. |
