Strategic corporate development in the context of mergers and acquisitions (case study of Kursk oblast)

This article illustrates corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions in the market economy in a case study of Kursk oblast. Mergers and acquisitions remains a top issue on the agenda during the global financial crisis, as they are one of the main ways of corporate strategic development and the fastest way to obtain additional industrial and financial funds. Several development strategies are described in the context of mergers and acquisitions. They include horizontal, vertical (generic), conglomerate, strategic, investment and cross-border strategies associated with logistical improvements.
