On the Triangular Trade Pattern of Asia and the Trade Growth of China

This paper examines the source of trade growth in China based on the triangular trade pattern in Asia.It shows that the triangular trade pattern of Asia exaggerates the scale of Chinese export and trade surplus.Japan,Korea and Chinese Taipei build their production and export processing bases in China through the triangular trade pattern by foreign direct investment and industry transfer.They shift the trade surplus between them and Europe and USA to the trade surplus between China and Europe and USA,which expands the trade conflict between China and Europe and USA,and worsens Chinese trade environment.
