摘    要:通过多中心城市空间结构的构建来疏解单中心城市的交通拥挤是城市规划历来的理想,但这种理想正日益受到实证研究的挑战.关于多中心空间结构能否节省通勤距离与通勤时间,存在截然相反的观点.分析表明,两种截然相反的实证结论源于两种不同形成机制的多中心结构,改善交通出行的多中心结构是以就业与居住就地平衡为前提的.

Abstract:The ideal of urban planning which is endeavored to decrease traffic problem of mono-centric cities by constructing spatial structure of poly-centric cities is now facing more and more challenges from empirical studies.There are two contradictory arguments to whether a poly-centric structure has better travel efficiency than a mono-centric one.Further analysis shows that this contradiction results from two kinds of poly-centric structures which are formed on different mechanism.The poly-centric structure which has the potential for improving traffic efficiency is characterized by the balance between residence and employment.
