非经济领域锦标赛对城市经济增长的影响研究

非经济领域锦标赛在中国具有广泛的社会影响力，全国文明城市评比是我国最具典型代表的非经济领域锦标赛。基于第五届全国文明城市评比结果，运用2012—2021年我国66个地级市的数据，应用双重差分（DID）法，系统评估全国文明城市评选对地方经济增长的影响。基准回归分析和稳健性结果表明，全国文明城市评选促进了城市经济增长。研究结果为全国文明城市评比的经济增长提供了实证依据，为优化全国文明城市评选标准以实现城市高质量可持续发展提供了启示。

The Impact of Non-economic Field Tournaments on Urban Economic Growth

The non-economic championships have a wide range of social influence in China. The national civilized city evaluation is the most typical representative of the non-economic championships in China. Based on the results of the fifth national civilized city evaluation, taking the data of 66 prefecture-level cities in China from 2012 to 2021, the difference-in-difference ( DID ) method is applied to systematically evaluate the impact of the national civilized city selection on local economic growth. Benchmark regression analysis and robustness results show that the selection of national civilized cities has promoted urban economic growth. The research results can provide an empirical basis for the economic growth of the national civilized city evaluation, and provide important enlightenment for optimizing the national civilized city selection criteria to achieve high-quality sustainable urban development.
