On the Translation of DU Fu's Poetry from the Perspective of Gestalt Psychology

In Gestalt psychology,the structure of any given object is never the sum of its parts but a whole resulting from the subjects' active perceptual activities of organization and construction.Likewise,a poem as a whole conveys more than the mere sum of its linguistic items,but the artistic mood,namely the image gestalt,created from the organic integration of these linguistic items.The comprehension and translation of DU's poetry is just the reproduction of this image gestalt in the translator's mind and in the target language.
