| Abstract: | This paper analyzes the orientation, core business, operating mechanism and policy environments of small and medium financial institutions in rural Indonesia and finds that microfinance and the innovation of mechanism designs are the key factors for successful rural financial institutions in Indonesia, In additions, the government policies and regulated supervisions are benefit to the development of rural financial institutions. These are guidable for the reform of our rural financial institutions. |
