The importance of being earnest in statistics

The principal assumption of statistical theory is that a sample came from a homogeneous population. This assumption is not tested when statistical computations are produced. It creates a gap between statistical theory and statistical practice. This gap is bridged by the new quality philosophy (NQP) in statistics. The NQP defines a homogeneous population in terms of classical probability discrete distributions.
