"Father of Fashionable Dress" Charles Worth and "Forerunner of Chinese Fashionable Dress" Jin Hongxiang

This thesis focuses on the comparative study on the experiences of Charles Worth and Jin Hongxiang starting and developing their respective business and their historical achievements. While Charles Worth was a fashion designer setting up the framework for the modem fashionable dress at the transitional time as well as the founder of the western fashionable dress in the true sense of the modern times, Jin Hongxiang who helped develop the traditional two-dimension suit-dress into the three-dimension modem dress was the pioneer designer who realized the integration of the western fashionable dress and the traditional Chinese clothes. He also created the first national brand of Chinese fashionable dress and is regarded as First Person starting the modem Chinese clothes industry.
