城市现代化发展及演进规律研究

从城市可持续发展的角度看 ,现代化的城市是一个由经济、社会和环境等子系统组成的复合系统 ,同时产生经济效益、社会效益和环境效益。城市现代化管理水平的高低将对城市的经济、社会、环境发展及区域综合竞争力提升产生重要的影响。入世为我国经济的跨越式发展和城市的现代化发展提供了广阔的舞台 ,我国以城市为极点的区域发展将面临日益激烈的国际化竞争。如何充分发挥城市现代化管理的作用 ,通过城市管理来提升区域综合竞争力 ,是中国城市现代化发展的重要课题。本文梳理了世界城市现代化发展的演进过程 ,提出城市现代化演进的四阶段论和五维决定论 ,为工业化后发国家推动城市现代化发展跨上新的台阶提供了决策依据 ,为有关研究奠定了理论基础。

On Modernization and Development of Cities

In the perspective of sustainable development, a modern city can be seen as a compound system composed of sub_systems of economy, society and environment. The city plays an important role in generating economic, social and environmental benefits, which depend largely on the city management. With the entry into WTO and the open_up policy of China, more opportunities will be available for the development of city_hub_regions, and more competitions from abroad as well. In the circumstances, it is very important to study the management of city modernization and its effects upon the regional comprehensive competitiveness. In this article, we review the history of modernization of cities and put forward the four_stage theory and five_dimension theory, thus provide the foundation to further study in this area.
