| Abstract: | This article reviews the impact of the Single European Market on the insurance industry and discusses the possible strategies that insurers may adopt to cope with the threats and opportunities that will arise.Strategies are analysed under three main headings: local, European and international, in order to under- stand how insurers may gain the benefits of competitive advan- tage and competitive scope. |
