小人物的命运也能像大人物那样给人带来心灵的震撼。《推销员之死》中的威利·洛曼是为了谋生和寻找自我价值而面临无尽琐事的许许多多普通人中的一个,因此他命运的悲剧性让人深思。《飞蛾之死》中那个为了能将弱小的生命再多维持一刻作最后挣扎,但最终无法与死神的力量抗衡的飞蛾给读者带来的震撼也同样发人深省。两者虽不为同类,可是他们最终的命运却极为相似,都在百般挣扎中走向生命的终点。但是,显然两个小角色对于生命和死亡的诠释却是截然不同的。

Analysis on the Unimportant Roles in Death of A Salesman and Death of A Moth

The tragedy of an unimportant person also touches people as a great man does. Willy Loman is just one of tens of thousands of average people facing endless trivial matters who want to make a living and at the same time seek their value. The day moth is so weak a living being, however, its courage of struggling against death is most strong. Willy Loman chose to end his life to realize his value, while the moth challenged the oncoming doom although it failed at last. The two of them give readers different interpretations of life and death.
