| Abstract: | The development of the sign language has just a history of over twenty years, but which attracts several linguists to participate in this work. This paper begins with an introduction to the recent development of the sign language, then discusses the relationship between sign language and language acquisition, the process of gaining sign language in Universal Grammar, word structure in independent sign languages(ISLs), the syntax of a typical ISL, especially American Sign Language(ASL) .It is very more complex to research language acquisition of deaf children than average person, but which is of special significance in linguistics acqiustion theory. |
