Forest Carbon Sequestration Assessment and Potential Analysis in Heilongjiang Province

Abstract:With the effect of "Kyoto Protocol" was taken,the issue of forest carbon sinks has been paid more and more attention around the world,at the same time,the extensive development of forest carbon sequestration and forest carbon sinks measurement problems also has been paid more attention.Abundant forest resources in Heilongjiang Province is most important forest areas in China,the huge "carbon sink" not only has important ecological functions,but also bears potentially huge economic benefits.The use of forest volume and biomass expansion method conversion factors(BEF) method,the capacity of Forest carbon sinks and carbon sequestration potential was calculated.The result shows that: Heilongjiang Province reserves of existing forest carbon sinks8.63-19.12×108t,it has huge carbon sequestration potential.
