从认知视角解读非典型比较结构

摘    要:英语中能够表达“比较”意义的非典型比较结构由动词、名词、原级形容词、原级副词、介词等组成。以往的研究往往只是罗列事实,而未能深入探索这些结构用以表达比较意义的理据。认知语言学的焦点背景理论与意象图示理论能够阐释这些结构背后的理据。

Abstract:Apart from comparative constructions,verbs,nouns,adjectives,adverbs and prepositions also have comparative meanings.However,traditional approaches are characterized by mere enumeration of these non-comparative constructions and a failure to explore the underlying motivation.Thus,cognitive linguistic theory,especially figure-ground principle,will best offer insights to explain the underlying mechanism.
