Study on the walking system construction in residential district

The construction of walking system in residential district is presented in this paper. It firstly analyzes the factors of constructing and impacting the walking system in residential district. It points out that the behavior of walkers, walking spatial attributes, outer traffic communication, walking traffic and walking traffic regulations are the main factors of constructing a walking system. It also brings forward that the subject and object requirements should be taken into consideration in a walking system design. Taking Zhaohui modern city in Hangzhou as an example, some factors and ways of a walking system construction are specifically discussed. It proposes responding suggestions and measures for the construction in the end.
