Abstract:Based on the data of urban population and built-up area of 293 cities at prefecture level and above in China from 2010 to 2016, combined with the biological allometric growth model, this paper analyzes the spatial heterogeneity characteristics and regular patterns of urban population migration in China, and deeply explores the dynamic process and internal evolution dynamics of population growth and land expansion in China under the allometric growth relationship. The results show that: the unbalanced characteristics of China's population agglomeration space are distinct, with strong population agglomeration capacity in economically developed areas in the east and weak population agglomeration capacity in economically backward areas in the west. There is a sharp contrast between the east and the west, and the west is the main source of population migration to the east. During the period of industrial adjustment and resource depletion, the phenomenon of population outflow is serious in resource-based cities. At this time, the growth rate of population in resource-based cities slows down or negative growth occurs.
