冯玉祥的"重农"思想和实践

General Feng Yuxiang had been paying much attention to the agriculture,the countryside and the farmer problems of China then.He attached great importance to the problems for many reasons:He was sympathetic to the working people,and he was also influenced by Chinese traditional thoughts and Sun Yat-sen's thoughts of stressing agriculture.But the most direct reason is the limitation of the economic situation and the need for military survival then.His thoughts of emphasizing agriculture is fairly systematic,including the fundamental position of agriculture,stressing peasants'lives,lessening peasants'burdens,preventing natu- ral disasters,changing agricultural production skills and running patterns as well as solving peasants'land problems and so on.Feng Yuxiang's practice of emphasizing agriculture contains rich contents,ineluding building irrigation works,planting trees,opening up wasteland and growing food grain,seientific farming and letting troops aid agriculture,etc.
