盐场记忆

自贡是一个充满神奇色彩的地方,早在东汉章帝时期崔(?)的《博徒论》中已经明确记载自贡先民在这一方土地上较大规模进行井盐业生产的盛况。以后,随着社会经济的发展,食盐在国家政治、军事、经济、文化发展中的地位与作用愈显重要,经营盐业的高额利润吸引着四面八方的诸色人众前来这个偏远之地淘金。他们在创造灿烂的盐业文化的同时,也留给我们不尽的回忆与思索。

MEMORY OF SALT WORKS

The member of these families was locally hailed as masters, bosses as well as the infhJential figures in that miniature society. But to a stater they were the owners of salt works, enterprisers as well as taxpayers for the national treasury of the imperial court. They ran well salt works in such a large scale and with such high ca- pacity that even amazed a geologist from Germany and a traveler from USA, both countries leading the world in the industrial revolution at that time.
