Since the founding of new China, with four decades of construction, especially a decade of reform and opening, its shipbuilding industry has entered a rapid development period. A large industry system with a powerful technical force has made it possible to have a development pattern combining shipbuilding and repairing, diversified economy and tertiary industry so as to serve well domestic and foreign markets for military and civil purposes.
