Grain crop capacity forecast as the basis for agricultural output prediction

Medium-term forecasting of grain crop capacity is considered, which is one of the central problems in the procedures of working out federal-and regional-level agricultural and food policy, and in the development programs of agricultural enterprises. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the grain crop capacity indicator the authors suggest a special algorithm for a medium-term forecasting. Possible applications for this algorithm are shown with reference to specific commodity producers. Methodological recommendations are given for forecasting regional-level agricultural production.
