Abstract:This article deals with aspects of national and regional tourism in developing countries with particular reference to political, economic and sociocultural factors as inhibitors or drivers of development. Tourism can provide a major source of foreign exchange and the Directorate-General for Development of the EEC Commission is ready to support tourism projects suggested by developing countries in a variety of ways.
