中国旅游研究的国际影响力分析——基于对2001～2012年国内外旅游类核心期刊论文的统计

文章通过对2001～2012年间中国两岸四地作者旅游类国际期刊论文的检索和统计,分析发现：（1）中国作者发表的论文总量呈增长趋势,且大陆的增幅尤为明显;（2）中国大陆作者独立发表的论文数量、大陆学术机构的贡献度及论文被引频次较低;（3）通过对不同时期两岸四地论文的关键词分析提取出的研究热点和研究方向发现,中国作者的旅游研究总体从宏观转向微观,由预测、规划转向动机、满意度研究,其中,大陆和港澳台的研究各偏重于不同的方向。文章还从《旅游学刊》文章被国际期刊论文引用的角度进行分析,研究发现,大陆学者正在以学术交流和学生联合培养的方式合作发表论文并引用中文旅游学术期刊文章,从而使之产生一定国际影响力。通过对国内外核心期刊的分析,研究近10年中国旅游研究的国际影响力变化趋势及其影响因素,为旅游学术共同体尤其是大陆学者提升其学术成果的国际影响力提供方向参考。

International Academic Impact of Chinese Tourism Research:A Review based on the Analysis of SSCI Tourism Articles from 2001 to 2012

Both international articles citation and articles cited by international scholars reflect the progress of the international communications process of research achievements and their academic impacts. It is clear that an inevitable trend to ＂walk out of the door＂ and try to stand on the world stage by Chinese tourism researchers and the tourism academic journals is occurring since the tourism industry in China is so promising and the demand for research is burgeoning. In addition, the level of Chinese scientific research is improving and needs to communicate and exchange ideas with the international world.. This paper reports the findings from an analysis of 942 articles in 20 SSCI journals in area of tourism （Accessed from the ISI database） published by Chinese authors, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan from 2001 to 2012. Based on information retrieval and statistical analysis, this review finds that ： （ 1 ） The number of published SSCI articles on tourism by Chinese authors showed a growing trend, and the contribution of mainland China authors increased significantly. （2） The number of articles published independently by authors from mainland China＇ s institutions was smaller （only 157 articles） than that of Hong Kong and Taiwan. The contribution of mainland China＇ s institutions and citations remained low. Chinese mainland authors published 157 articles from 70 academic institutions, of which the highest proportion in mainland China came from Sun Yat-sen University （Guangzhou）. The highest contribution of trans - national and cross - border cooperation institutions including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, was from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Thirty SSCI articles have been independently written by mainland China authors, which accounts for only 3% of the total 942 articles, which indicates that not only the low popularity of collaborative research and international exchange, but the low international profile of Chinese tourism research from mainland China. （3） According to the frequency of keyword analysis, the contents of tourism research conducted by Chinese scholars changed from the macroscopic scale to microscopic scale, from forecasting and planning to motivation and satisfaction research. The top 5 high - frequency keywords across different regions, revealed that most articles from mainland China focused on tourism industry development and rural tourism, while articles from Hong Kong and Macau paid more attention to the demand, motivation, satisfaction and service quality in tourism, and articles from Taiwan emphasized sightseeing and the hospitality industry chain. From the review of the Chinese tourism journal Tourism Tribune, 124 Chinese articles published upto 2012 were cited in 72 articles from SSCI journals in the tourism area. In 2012, Tourism Tribune was considered one of the ＂Highest International Impact Academic Journals （ Humanities and Social Sciences） ＂ as evaluated by the China Academic Journals Electronic Publishing House, China Scientific Literature Evaluation and Measuring Research Center, Library of Tsinghua University. The analysis of the Tourism Tribune papers cited by SSCI journals showed that mainland China authors published their articles in SSCI journals and cited Chinese articles on tourism in the form of international academic exchange and joint programs. This exerted international academic impacts through the academic journals. It can be concluded that, there is a changing trend in the international impacts of Chinese tourism research over the past ten years, as well as some of the influencing factors. These findings will help to establish the interesting points from Chinese tourism research that interest the international research community and will give the direction to the research in the future. In order to enhance the international academic impact on Chinese tourism research and provide research basis for Chinese tourism academic community, especially mainland China scholars and institutions. In future, the Chinese students overseas （especially masters and doctoral students） will play an important role in the process of internationalization of research and bring more international attention for Chinese tourism research trends with their insights and language advantages, which are not considered in this paper.
