桂林旅游景区(点)英译存在的问题及应对策略

桂林国际旅游胜地建设需要规范、统一、准确的旅游景区(点)翻译,桂林旅游景区(点)翻译中存在的名称翻译不一致、用词不当、语法错误、文化误译等诸多问题需要得到解决。运用方梦之教授提出的"达旨—循规—共喻"的应用翻译原则,提出了旅游景区(点)的翻译策略及具体的翻译方法,并采用李克特五级量表进行实证分析。旅游翻译工作者应采取正确的翻译策略和方法,使翻译达到共喻的效果;旅游行政管理部门应加强管理,统一规范景区(点)翻译。

The Problems of English Translation of Guilin Scenic Areas and Coping Strategies

The well-translated name of scenic areas is rather important for the construction of＆quot;Guilin International Tourist Desti-nation＆quot;.However,such translation problems as inconsistency and non-equivalence between the source text and the target text, wrong grammar and misleading expressions have affected the construction process to some extent.Following Professor Fang Mengzhi’s translation principle of“conveying the theme-following the norm of the target language-making people clear”,this the-sis puts forward corresponding translation strategies and methods and adopts Likert’s five-scale measurements for empirical anal-ysis.Translators should take right translation strategies and methods to make people clear,while administration departments should strengthen management and formulate unified translation criteria for scenic areas.
