A two warehouse inventory problem

Summary A single stage two warehouse inventory model in which the interarrival times of demands follow a general distribution and the quantity demanded at each demand also follows some distribution has been considered here. Demands of size ≤k go to the first warehouse and of size >k go to the second warehouse. The particular case where demands are generated by the Poisson process and the quantity demanded follows the exponential distribution has been studied in detail.
