BANK LENDING RELATIONSHIPS AND THE COMPLEX NATURE OF BANK-CORPORATE RELATIONS
Authors:John Holland
Abstract:Recent developments in the banking and bank lending literature have highlighted the significance of bank-corporate relations. This paper expands the concept of relations, and places the credit relationship within the broader context both of comprehensive financial service supply relationships and multiple bank-corporate relationships. The expanded concepts of relations are based on extensive case study research and are explored through the use of theoretical constructs. These concepts of relations are then used to investigate bank rationales for relationship banking and to identify enhanced research opportunities for the related bank lending research programmes.
