台湾近百年文论的发展,经历了"五四"文化运动的洗礼、日据期间日本文化的侵蚀与感染、1949年后随着台湾社会的变迁欧美文化的大量引进等历程,由此产生了与大陆文论不同的呈海洋文化开放性的独异风貌.它在许多时候虽呈精英文化的特点,但由于论争多于探讨,引进甚于消化,故距理论经典作品产生及由此出现理论大师的时代仍然遥远.

The development of the literary criticism in Taiwan during the last one hundred years has undergone the May 4th movement,influence of th e Japanese culture during its occupation,the changing of Taiwan society after1949and inburst of the cultures of Europe and America.Thus it has shaped i ts own characteristics as opening se a culture,quite different from the Ma in land.Although it shows the featur e of excellent culture,there is still a long way to the age of great critic which grows from the theoretic classic works owing to more arguments rather than absorbing from other cultures.
