Curative Effects of Edaravone Combined with Atorvastatin Calcium in the Treatment of Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction

Objective To explore the efficacy of edaravone combined with atorvastatin calcium in the treatment of patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 68 patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to the Department of Neurology,Dalian Central Hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to their hospitalized case numbers, they were randomly divided into a statin group and a combined group, with 34 cases in each group. Both groups of patients received basic treatments such as anti-platelet aggregation, improving circulation, lowering intracranial pressure, and improving cerebral edema, and monitored various vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Meanwhile, patients in the statin group were treated with atorvastatin calcium tablets, and patients in the combination group were treated with edaravone injection plus atorvastatin calcium tablets. Serum homocysteine(Hcy), high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP), superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA) levels, neurological deficit score and treatment before and after treatment between the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the Hcy level, hs-CRP level, MDA content and NIHSS score of the statin group and the combination group were lower than before the treatment, and the SOD level was higher than that before the treatment, and the degree of change in the combination group was more significant, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the effective rate of the statin group was 70.59%, and the effective rate of the combination group was 94.12%, which was significantly higher than that of the statin group(P<0.05). Conclusion Edaravone combined with atorvastatin calcium has the effects of scavenging oxygen free radicals, alleviating smooth muscle spasm, accelerating blood circulation in brain tissue, inhibiting inflammation, promoting nerve repair, etc., and improving limb dysfunction and nerve damage in patients with acute cerebral infarction and other symptoms.
