With the fast development of economy and continuous increase of economic strength of China, there appears in the world an absurd theory that blazons forth the so-called threat created by the economy of China. Japan is not only the country where the theory has originated, but it is also the principal advocator of the view at the moment. In Japan, some right-wing scholars, businessmen and even part of the government officials frequently advertise the theory by claiming that China is exporting currency deflation, that exported merchandise from China has adversely affected Japanese products, that Japanese businesses?direct investment in China has sped up the bleeding of Japanese industries, etc. This kind of view, however, does not reflect the true picture of the Sino-Japanese economic and trade relationship and, therefore, lacks realistic grounds.
