With the postcolonial criticism as its angle of view and the history of European colonialism as its background, this paper reinterprets the main character of Robinson Crusoe, the masterpiece of Daniel Defoe (1660-1731), an English novelist in the 18th century, exploring his characteristics as a colonist and his relationship with the expansion of the European colonialism.
