根据光的衍射测量头发的直径

本文利用光的波动性，对不透明的线状物体进行衍射，证实与单缝衍射花纹相同，并测出激光器波长，进而又测出易变形的细微物体－头发丝的直径。本实验仪器简单，成本低廉，可为一般大学增添一个光实实验，使学生对光的波动性有进一步认识，对实验过程的设计、仪器安装及理论和误差分析也是一次很好的训练。

Measuring the diameter of a hair by diffraction

This paper desls with the diffraction of an opaque linear cbject by using a HeNe laser,throuhg understanding of the nature of the wave motion of light. the diffraction pattern shown isproved to be the same as that done from a single--slit diffraction. frm the experiment,the wavelength from foe laser,together with the diameter of the opaque linear object--a hair,so soft andthin as it is,can also be meastired.The equipment used is simple and of low cost ; the experiment may well be. introduced into anoptical experiment class for college students,who will surely be able to get a better under standingof some optical principles and the natare of the wave motion of light,and get well--trained in designing the experiment,using 'the instruments and analysing the errors.
