The inheritance function

Even though inheritances are of great importance for economic inequality, little research has so far been done on the factors determining the size of the inheritances a person will receive during his lifetime, or when during his lifetime he is most likely to get his inheritance - if he gets one at all. This article provides an approach to these questions. Using Swedish data an inheritance function is estimated.
