Abstract: | Antony Fisher, a great entrepreneur, was inspired to found the IEA after Hayek had advised him that, to change society, the intellectuals must be persuaded by reasoned argument. He established many similar institutes around the world. 1998 is the fiftieth anniversary of his first book, The Case for Freedom , which still has lessons to teach us. |
