从奈达翻译观的变化看翻译教学

奈达的翻译思想从 1 964到 1 974年发生了很大的变化。奈达在他 1 964年所著的《翻译科学探索》一书中认为把语言学、社会语言学、符号学用于翻译问题的研究必然会建立起翻译学。但是 ,1 0年后 ,他在《翻译理论与实践》一书中坦诚地承认过去的看法过于乐观。他承认翻译远远不仅是一门科学 ,也是一门技术 ,而且真正理想的翻译说到底是一门艺术。杰出的翻译家是生就的而不是造就的。

Teaching Methodology in Translation by Penetrating the Changes in Nidar's Theory

Nidar's theory of translation changed a great deal from 1964 to 1974. He believed in his book Probing into Translation Science that translatology can be built on the basis of studies on philosophy, sociol linguistics, and semeiology. But 10 years later, he changed his ideas and said in his book "Translation Principles and Practices" that he was too optimistic in the past and admitted that translation is far beyond a science. It is a technique, also an art after all . Outstanding translators are born but not trained.
