| Abstract: | This essay sums up the phenomena of students' failure in social communication and analyses the reasons through the practice of college English teaching.The author illustrates the concept of pragmatics and social pragmatic principles.Based on the teaching practice,the author proves that it is necessary to teach some social pragmatic knowledge in college English teaching. |
