Abstract: | This study investigates how differences in the degree of capital budgeting sophistication and formalization are related to the corporate context. A model was developed and the expectations in the model were explored with data gathered from 146 major UK firms. The results generally support the model and show that the investment procedures and techniques adopted by firms may be partly explained in terms of the corporate context. |
