Beijing's Imports Take Off
摘    要:Beijing's foreign economic and trade department has devoted much attention to the import business, while continuously increasing its export value. In 1994 the value of its self-managed imports (excluding the importsit handled for the state and provincial foreign trade companies as agent) stood at US$1.91 billion, up 38.2% over the previous year, remarkably higher than the growth rate of exports. Of the imports, the means of production and the means of livelihood were valued at US$1.854 billion and US$57.31 million, accounting for 97% and 3% of the total respectively.
