长江三峡工程实施计划与工程建设的最新进展

Both the whole project and its single subproject rank with the top grade at present in the world with the dam constructed under conditions of discharge being 80000m3/s and water depth being 60m in the Yangtze River.The total construction period of the project is 17 years. The main channel of the Yangtze River will be closed in 1997. The first turbine generating sets will be put into operation in 2003. The whole project will be completed in 2009. At present, all works of the project are progressing on schedule. The construction is proceeding smoothly.
