| Abstract: | The thesis is the essential part at the beginning of English composition. The thesis of a composition is its main point or its central idea. It decides how to develop the whole essay. The paper, from the cognitive perspective, introduces the definition and characteristics of the thesis, illustrates the criteria and presents the patterns of it so that it can provide the references for the thesis teaching and learning in English writing. |
