| 摘 要： | 1 The rising of the Chinese education of geology came after the needs of the running of the modern mineral enterprises during the period of westernizing movement. From the beginning of the 1860s,the westernizing group,under the presure of domestic trouble and foreign invasion launched a self-strong movement of Constitution Reform aiming at learning from the West and manufacturing guns and ships.They realized that in order to maintain the production of the established war industry,mineral resources should be found and mined so as to meet its supply. Thus, the introduction of the Western mining methods and the program ofrunning modem mineral enterprises were put on the agenda.
