After tariff reduction, the number of implementation of the Agreement's tariff rate will amount to approximately 6750,compared with the MFN rate, the average discount rate of about 80 percent. In 2009,China's general tariff level is still 9.8 percent, while the average tariff on ASEAN down to 2.8 percent. To eliminate tariffs year on year and open markets to each other is a major initiate between China and ASEAN to promote cooperation by opening markets to gain development by coooeration since 2004.
