Global Economic Imbalances and China's Countermeasures

Global economic imbalances have been exacerbating since 1990s. The causes include, among other things, low savings rate in the US and high savings rate in East Asia, export-oriented development strategy in emerging economies, inflated assets price in the US resulting from the new economy, and the status of the US dollar in the current international financial system. The imbalances pose massive threat and uncertainty to the world economy. China should quicken its economic restructuring, achieve both internal and external equilibrium, and better guard against potential risks.
