An Analysis of Japanese Antidumping Policy and Its Characteristics

Japan is one of the countries which implement antidumping systems earliest over the world, and there exists some characteristics of its own in Japanese antidumping policy. However, under the background that the developed countries including the U.S. and E.U. have frequently taken antidumping measures to protect their domestic industries and the international antidumping conflicts have become increasingly intense, Japan as a similar developed country has initiated very few antidumping investigations. This paper begins with the examination of the main ingredients of Japanese antidumping policy, and then makes a study of the characteristics of Japanese antidumping policy and its practice, and meanwhile, the relevant reasons for these characteristics are revealed.
