Understanding social change: Some comments on “Prediction and social change”

Gordon Rattray Taylor argued, in the October 1977 issue of Futures,² that forecasting needs a fuller understanding of social change, and of the factors which influence it. In this response, Willis Harman discusses Taylor's view of the importance of individual and personal values in the process of change, and comments upon his analysis of those values.
