Problems in the ecological construction of small towns in China and relevant countermeasures

This paper firstly generalizes three crucial problems of ecological construction encountered by Chinese small towns. The problems are lack of knowledge, weak in construction strength and feeble in countermeasures. Lack of knowledge is showed by the weakness of fundamental studies and of the meaning of small town ecological construction; weak in construction strength is presented by the weakness of institutions, information, funds, talents, mechanism etc.; feeble in countermeasures mean that national and local governments can not propose efficient countermeasures. It summarizes these problems and points out five countermeasures: stressing and strengthening studies; increasing investment and expanding channels; consolidating education to train talents; reforming mechanism and increasing drive force; encouraging sharing and improving efficiency.
